Applications & Servers

Hosted applications scalable from a few users through to multi-site enterprises. Reduce power costs and prolong the life of your desktop systems.

Delivering ultimate flexibility

Centralise your file, print & data services

One of the principal issues facing businesses with regard to networked computing is the storage and backup of data, the centralisation of applications and the associated management of the system(s).   In multi-site locations, the situation is compounded.

In addition to the security issues, companies are faced with the decision of whether to have file server capabilities at each location; whether to have one central server with the satellites connected to it or combination thereof.

Energy efficiency is another key issue facing businesses.  Multiple servers mean multiple power requirements; multiple cooling requirements plus the energy consumed by the necessary security systems to protect our server and the business confidential data that resides upon it.

Another major issue to contend with is the ever-changing technology.  Software outgrows hardware capabilities.  Software becomes obsolete and unsupported.  Data volumes grow and new, improved and faster hardware is required.  With a centrally hosted (cloud) server, JPCi.Net can upgrade the software centrally as a one-time action and the upgraded system is then available to all users.

As data volumes grow, the ability to backup information on to tape drives (the traditional backup medium) has become ever-more difficult, time-consuming and costly – and yes, there is more power required.

The alternative to tape backup is disk-to-disk backup.  The issue with this is that disks tend not to be as portable or robust as tapes and storing the data off-site and/or in fire-proof conditions is extremely difficult – and again, costly.  The JPCi.Net model utilises two discrete data-centres connected by a very high-speed communications link.  Data can then be backed up over this link to a separate, secure building.   Not only does this dramatically reduce the time taken to backup data but it also reduces the time to restore items should they be needed.

Whichever technical architecture is implemented and how ever many locations a business operates from, one requirement is inescapable – the need to retain, either in-house or on a sub-contracted basis, suitable I.T. support resources.  JPCi.Net have many years experience of supporting businesses in ‘real world’ environments with their IT systems and support, by telephone, on-line and on-site (where required).

Scalable & Supportable

Our solutions are scalable from just a few users (one if required) through to multi-site, enterprise type customers with many users, a JPCi.Net Centralised Server will ensure that:

-          The system and software are always up to date with the latest versions

-          Backups are always undertaken and securely stored

-          Access to the required applications and data is available to all (authorised) users wherever they are located – all that is required is an Internet connected PC or compatible terminal (Thin Client)

-          Additional system resources and services can be easily, quickly and cost-effectively added when required – or removed, due to the JPCi.Net ‘Service Rental Agreement’ for all components of the system.
